Stemming from a deep appreciation of the world, its people, and the beauty surrounding it, Angelo Anastasio has a passion for designing exquisite footwear and accessories. All of Angelo’s creations, especially his beautiful women’s line, Angeleigh Anastasio, are proof that his inspiration and drive are in fact a successful formula. Angelo spent thirty years working in the fashion industry before following his dreams and pursuing his own business. In 2006, Angelo released his first original Italian-made line at The Collections at WSA. After many critically acclaimed seasons, his signature high heeled pumps, boots, sandals, and handbags are found in luxury fashion outlets all over the country. Angelo’s creative passion has transformed the ordinary into extraordinary by empowering women’s psyche and enhancing their appearance through his elegant and graceful designs.

Angelo, the youngest of seven children, began his pursuit of fashion excellence early in Polistena, a small town in southern Italy. Day after day, Angelo watched as his mother and sister handcrafted beautiful wedding gowns. Angelo also attributes much of his influence to a local cobbler, Lorenzo, who played a key role in shaping Angelo’s future and transcendent design sensibilities.

After Angelo and his family immigrated to the United States in 1966, he was quickly admitted into Adelphia University in New York, New York. Arriving on a full scholarship for his superior soccer abilities, Angelo quickly made a name for himself. After graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor’s in Foreign Language and Business Administration Angelo signed with the New York Cosmos, a professional soccer team. Angelo even had the luxury of playing alongside some of the greats, including the legendary Pelé himself!

After his soccer career, Angelo was hired by Adidas in 1978. After working in Adidas’ marketing department for some time, Angelo’s drive and ambition enabled him to steadily climb the corporate ladder. A few of his numerous titles included; Manager of Marketing, Design and Merchandising, and Director of Promotions, among others. In 1992, Angelo left Adidas to serve as a Unit Business Manager for Global Events.

A huge step in Angelo’s business career came when he took a position as the Vice President of Entertainment and Promotional Events for the 1994 World Cup in the United States. Undoubtedly the largest stage in the sport of soccer, Angelo excelled in his new position, organizing and preparing public relations and marketing campaigns for the largest events surrounding the tournament. With an opportunity to work closely with a myriad of professional contacts, Angelo quickly made a name for himself. Once the World Cup was over, Angelo took his first major design job as the VP of Design at Diadora America. He continued to work his way through the fashion industry at companies such as Fila, Reebok and Warnaco where his duties, responsibilities, and skills were further refined.

Eventually, the desire for Angelo to pursue his lifelong dream became truly overwhelming and he left the corporate world behind to become his own boss. Angelo’s sincere love of life and the passion he feels for each and every creation truly shows through in his work. With impeccable craftsmanship and use of premium materials, the Angeleigh Anastasio line exemplifies simple refinement and definitive luxury.
